In the summer there was a major landslide that blocked a section of The North Shore Road, close to Glengyle on the north western shores of Loch Katrine.
The on-going work to repair the road and path around the loch by Scottish Water means that currently is it not possible to cycle from Stronachlachar to Trossachs Pier.
We have been advised by Scottish Water that The North Shore Road will be open for walkers and cyclists at WEEKENDS ONLY from Saturday 5th October until the end of the season on the 3rd November.
The road will be open from 8.30 am on Saturdays until 5 pm on Sundays subject to forecast rain levels. Please check the weather before visiting or booking. We will also provide updates on social media.
Cycling is a very popular activity at Loch Katrine. The cycle hire remains open at Trossachs Pier and much of the road along the loch is still acessible for cycling. If you have any questions before booking/visiting please do call us and we’ll be very happy to answer any of your questions. Our number is 01877 376315.
