Loch Katrine has just hosted its first Wizards & Witches Weekend. This is part of a calendar of family themed events that are held throughout the year.
A magic spell was put across Loch Katrine for the weekend, turning Trossachs Pier into the Trossachs School of Magic’ with the Sir Walter Scott Steamship becoming ‘The Flying Broomstick.’
Tickets for special sailings throughout the weekend included magic wands for the kids, an activity sheet and a hunt for clues around the pier and steamship.
We were delighted that so many of the children came dressed as witches, wizards and Harry Potter’s. There was a face painting station to add the finishing touches to those amazing costumes.
At a Wand Crafting Station children customised and decorated their wands.
The wizards and witches had a secret area where they kept their cauldron.
This is where the newly decorated wands were used for the first time to make magic happen.
Meanwhile Little Critters of Stirling brought some of their owls along. The owls were very popular.
On board the special sailings of ‘The Flying Broomstick’ steamship there were fun activities for the children, hosted by our Wizards and Witches.
Our actors also told the children the magical story of Loch Katrine’s Goblin Cave as they sailed past it.
With their newly learned magic spells the children all worked together to create the biggest magic spell of the day. The result covered the steamship in magic!
Here are some more photographs of the weekend. As you can see everyone got into the spirt of the theme!
We’ve got more fun weekends throughout the year. Thank-you to everyone who came along and got involved in the weekend. We’ve already had some excellent feedback.
A big thank-you too to all of the individuals, companies and organisations that helped us stage the weekend, plus of course all of the team at Loch Katrine.
